We are pleased to announce the release of Zenwalk Live 4.6.

This version is based on Zenwalk GNU/Linux 4.6 and compliments the security, speed and stability you've come to expect from Zenwalk. In addition to the selection of software and tools provided by the standard edition of Zenwalk, included in this Live edition are the Gparted graphical hard disc partitioning software, system recovery tools and much more.

On the desktop XFCE 4.4.1 is provided complete with notification support to let systems like udev notify the user about automounted devices such as usb keys, DVD, etc... The Thunar filemanager now handles video thumbnails and many new panel plugins have been added or updated. X11 compositing, aka translucency, window shadows, is also readily available.

Zenwalk Live continues to provide a complete, yet portable development suite for all of you coders and software developers. You can expect to have the same wonderful collection of development applications and libraries of Zenwalk in this Live edition with you wherever you go.

New features in this version provides users with the ability to compile kernel modules with no need to recompile the kernel or even download kernel source. Also in this release we are happy to announce that localization has been enhanced even more, allowing the users to choose their preferred language and boot directly into a fully localized desktop as opposed to configure the system to your locale after logging in. This release also uses the latest Linux-Live scripts with LZMA enabled Squashfs, getting the best compression ratio available.

The most important change in 4.6 at the system level is the new tool chain, including Binutils-2.17.50, GCC 4.1 and Glibc-2.5, which hve been fully implemented. All libraries and applications have been compiled with this modern tool chain and benefit from the latest evolutions in GNU software and resulting binary optimizations.

We feel this is the best Zenwalk Live edition ever and hope you love it as much as we do.
